Overview and Responsibilities
The Account Executive will help drive new revenue to all Viacom networks (excluding BET) as an active part of the MPS New Business sales team as we work across multiple divisions to develop and pitch new partnership opportunities to advertisers. Specifically, the Account Executive will report directly to the NY-based MPS New Business VP’s in crafting and pitching compelling, customized proposals, performing detailed research and analysis to aid the team in better identifying prospective clients and helping manage other team members and interns.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the prospecting, outreach and client pitch to an agreed upon target list of key territories and clients
• Craft CEO and CMO-level communication to secure new partnership discussions
• Manage client feedback, requests and challenges pursuant to the pitch process
◦ Create compelling, customized presentations to pitch
◦ Compile research and analysis, marketing campaigns, case studies
◦ Lead internal teams toward development of large-scale, cross-departmental partnership programs including: TV, Digital, Mobile, VPG, Recreation, CP, Marketing, among others
◦ Understand how to work with multiple departments simultaneously, communicate clearly and consistently, and tactfully handle issues and objections
• Oversee New Business prospect list development and offer insights on working accounts, new accounts, opportunities, and industry
• Maintain organization and oversee deliverables during execution of closed business
• Collaborate with the other Viacom sales departments and Account Executives on information sharing, account information, development of general sales tools, ideas and projects
• Oversee day-to-day tasks of team SSE, Analysts, and seasonal interns, effectively delegating projects, prep sheets, etc.
Basic Qualifications
• 5 + years of experience in ad sales, marketing or business strategy preferably with direct client and digital experience
Additional Qualifications
• Highly skilled in PowerPoint development (able to build slides and story line)
• Fluent in Excel and data manipulation
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• On-air and online media planning and media math acumen
• Interest in strategic, partnership-oriented sales and business development
• Strong Research & analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
