Job Description
The Director of Digital is a corporate leadership position to help train our Salesforce and drive digital revenue throughout TEGNA’s broadcast stations. Director of Digital will assist in recruiting and onboarding of new Digital Sales Managers. Director of Digital will also identify training needs and opportunities and direct the sales learning needed to build confidence, knowledge and revenue.
Director of Digital strategically and tactically works with sales leaders to drive the right digital metrics to achieve digital revenue goals. Director of Digital builds strong relationships in local markets, with the local management team, local account executive, support personnel and with third-party partners in a collaborative and supportive manner. This position can be based in Dallas, TX or remote.
Driving Revenue:
Strategize any large potential revenue opportunities and assist the local markets in the sale cycle and track all stages using Salesforce.com; Assess and review tier 1 campaigns with markets weekly; Set and maintain monthly calls with station DSMs and DOSs based on priority of market needs; Analyze existing Tier 1 campaigns and provide expertise on performance, insights and optimizations
Sales Enablement/Training:
Onboarding will involve training the DSMs to be proficient in all of TEGNA’s Marketing Solutions; Be primary digital resource for TEGNA’s broadcast stations for any and all things digital; Deliver in-market and webinar training sessions on industry trends, product launches, platform updates/releases, sales enablement tools, etc.; Create innovative multimedia recommendations that integrate the TEGNA Way of Selling and digital best practices, demonstrating engagement and interaction between the client message and potential customers; Assist local sales management through better utilization of Salesforce and driving adoption in other sales enablement tools; Identify process, skills or knowledge gaps in the field, and make recommendations on how to resolve gaps
Job Requirements
• Bachelor's degree preferred 5 years of sales leadership and digital experience
• Expert knowledge in all areas of digital marketing solutions (SEO, SEM, Mobile, Display, Platforms, Social, etc.)
• Proficient in Salesforce.com, Microsoft Office Suite and online screen sharing tools (Skype, WebEx, GoTomeeting, Join.me
• Be a constant student of the industry. Network nationally, regionally, and locally to stay abreast of emerging digital trends, rates, product solutions and competitors
• Director of Digital will be responsible for managing their own travel schedule and coordinating with stations for market visits
• Ability to learn new systems and platforms based on company/market needs
