We are looking for an HR Specialist to join our US HR Specialist team! Based in New York, you will be focused on supporting our employees and managers in US and Canada.
You will work closely with the rest of the HR Specialist team to ensure the delivery of global projects and region specific process improvements. You will be responsible for implementing, communicating and providing training resulting from any project work. The day-to-day work of this role will also support all stages of the employee lifecycle for employees across the region, including delivery of employee onboarding, facilitating manager training, working to resolve employee queries and partnering with managers to resolve labor law issues.
What you’ll do
• Partner with managers and HR Business Partners to understand and resolve local issues
• Work with the business to develop proactive solutions to recurring team challenges
• Act as the first point of contact in HR for employees and managers
• Be the local expert providing hands-on labor law advice and support in region
• Road manage global HR project work and roll-out of HR initiatives in region
• Manage orientation and onboarding for new employees
• Support processes through the employee life cycle including performance development, organizational change and conduct issues
• Deliver training to support manager development
• Complete regular audits on a monthly and annual basis and necessary admin
• Review HR processes and suggesting changes to improve efficiency and scalability
Who you are
• You have experience of working in a generalist HR role, preferably in an international company
• You have a broad knowledge and understanding of US work legislation
• You have a proven ability to work collaboratively, being inclusive of all stakeholders
• You’re able to productively challenge and influence other teams and managers
• You’re able to prioritize well and be flexible in a fast paced environment with changing demands
• You have experience of road managing projects and managing resources to ensure successful completion of objectives
• You have excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
• You’ve demonstrated the ability to provide a solution focused approach to problem solving
• You’ve demonstrated a commercial approach to managing HR issues
• You are fluent in spoken and written English
