Sales Director, Americas – Informa | Dallas, Texas
The Sales Director, Americas will lead the Americas SME, Corporate Accounts and Business Development teams to win, retain and grow revenue for the Agribusiness Intelligence portfolio. In this role you will be responsible for devising and implementing the Americas sales strategy and meeting revenue targets. As the Sales Director, Americas you will coach and develop sales professionals to execute effective sales strategies and grow revenues.
In this role you will:
• Lead, train, coach, motivate and performance-manage the team, with individual contributors in multiple locations across North America and in our Sao Paulo, Brazil office
• Hire to vacancies as they arise, bringing in commercial talent to drive the growth of the vertical
• Where needed, run and own specific sales opportunities or accounts, sourcing new clients and building new relationships, maintaining existing customer relationships, achieving and exceeding sales goals, and implementing creative sales strategies
• Work closely with marketing colleagues in ensuring effective lead management and conversion
• Work closely with customer success colleagues in ensuring effective strategies are implemented with Americas customers, from trials and onboarding to success plans and ad-hoc projects
• Support the Global Head of Sales in implementing the sales strategy
• Support the team in achieving and exceeding challenging revenue targets and sales objectives
• Use data to drive performance and to manage performance
• Be a role model for the team
• Develop individual members of the team through coaching and mentoring and accompanying them on customer visits
• Increase the growth potential in existing accounts and acquiring new clients in a competitive sales environment
• Be a commercial figurehead for the business
• Cement and own key client relationships
• Lead several strategic projects and initiatives, focusing on increasing the efficiency and productivity of the sales team
• Present and negotiate up to board level in any organization
Required Experience:
• Minimum 8 years' sales experience required
• Minimum 3 years' experience in running a sales team
• Positive Impact and Influence – able to manage internal and external relationships and adapt approach as needed. Excellent written and verbal skills
• Analysis and Decision Making – can identify patterns in data, identify potential areas of focus and able to make autonomous decisions on priorities on a day-to-day basis
• Teamwork and Collaboration – can work across different levels of seniority, different cultures and languages and as part of a team
• Business Delivery – focused on meeting deadlines, objectives and “getting the job done”
