Stretching across six contiguous city blocks, THE ROW encompasses 25 restaurants, 22 bars and lounges, 11 nightspots, over 4,000 luxury rooms and suites and 227,000 square feet of casino space with 3,000 slot machines and 125 table games. This fall, THE ROW will open The Spa at Silver Legacy, a 21,000 square foot spa offering guests the largest relaxation, beauty, fitness and retail treatment facility in northern Nevada. Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY
Assists in the administration of the Banquet Department in a professional, efficient and profitable manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain knowledge of all hotel Services, Amenities, hours of operation and current Special Events.
• Maintain complete knowledge of, and comply with, all hotel and departmental policies and use of all office equipment.
• Handle all incoming calls and take messages.
• Greet all guests, VIP visitors and sales persons.
• Schedule all appointments.
• Prepare door and sign cards, menus and any other pertinent signage that is attractive and professional in appearance.
• Compile reports daily, monthly and on demand for Director of Catering.
• Prepare correspondence and memos, etc. for the Catering department.
• Ensure mail and BEO’s are properly distributed.
• Ensure assigned projects and reports are handed in on time.
• Check convention reader boards and signage daily for accuracy.
• Process banquet checks daily by posting, ensuring client has signed check, proofread and distribute to appropriate departments.
• Coordinate with Director of Catering to respond to all guest comments by letter.
• Maintain and update filing system for accuracy.
• Maintain current information in Personnel files.
• Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions as directed. Follow up to ensure completion.
Coordinate service repairs for office equipment and enter Engineering Work Orders into the work order system as requested.
• Maintain strict confidentiality and security of all hotel information, reports, correspondence and files that are proprietary or otherwise designated as confidential.
• Requires regular, predictable attendance.
• Other job related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Filing and general office skills.
• Skill in English grammar and spelling.
• Good organizational skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Understand and comply with all company and departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and guests.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
• Ability to perform intermediate math.
• High school education or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 2 years secretarial experience required. Hospitality experience preferred.
• Computer experience a must.
