Overview
HarperCollins Children’s Books is seeking a Marketing Associate to join the team that executes school & library marketing for the children’s division. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about the children’s marketplace, is familiar with the school and library market, has some digital marketing experience and is organized, enthusiastic, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
• Creates, routes, and submits print and digital promotional materials, such as discussion guides, posters and educational kits. Coordinates ads with outside agency and works closely with freelance copywriters and designers.
• Shares responsibility for the department’s digital efforts, including the HarperStacks blog, e-newsletter, Facebook page and Twitter account.
• Oversees submissions to national, regional, and state awards, and prepares award recap documents.
• Executes seasonal department processes such as mailings, maintaining and updating marketing plans.
• Travels to and participates in 5-6 national teacher and librarian conferences throughout the year.
Qualifications
• 2 years of relevant experience required; Prior experience in book publishing and/or marketing a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize within a deadline-driven environment
• Superb organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects at once
• Creative approach to problem solving
• Affinity for working as part of a team on group projects.
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Strong interest in children’s publishing
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
• Ability to travel 5-6 times per year
