Condé Nast Entertainment is seeking a Video Editor to work with our Production and Development teams, and reporting directly into the Central Post Production team. This person will have the opportunity to work on piloting and editing new long-form digital content for our new OTT (Over-the-Top) VOD channels for WIRED, Bon Appetit, and others.
The choices you make are irreverent, flashy and iconoclastic. You don’t subscribe to any sort of standardization and there’s a loudness to your style. You’re honed in on figuring out how to keep an audience’s eyes glued to the video content you create with good rhythm and pacing instincts, and your boldness reaches out and grabs people.
Primary Responsibilities
• Execute complex digital long-form pilots, with a strong understanding of video, audio, and color editing, while utilizing industry-standard hardware and software.
• Creatively communicate and problem solve with Development and Production leadership towards the efficient creation of high-quality video content for our newly developing OTT channels.
• Apply creative, collaborative, technical and quality-control skills to provide effective editorial services in a client-driven, deadline-oriented environment. Be able to adhere to strict delivery & publishing schedules.
• Be available on shoots to consult for post-production issues and act as a production consultant on various projects when needed.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
• 4-6 years minimum experience editing in a digital post-production environment, with deep experience in the Adobe Suite of products.
• Strong understanding of digital trends, cinematography, and editing principles; with an ability to tell a cohesive story.
• Strong finishing skills, able to handle color, sound, motion graphics, and a solid eye for design & style.
• Thumb on the pulse of viral digital trends, and with a knack for creative, insightful, and comedic timing.
• MUST send links to full edited video pieces, ideally viral or within the million-hit club. Sizzle/demo reels not preferred.
