OVERVIEW OF ROLE
Active member of AMC’s Program Scheduling Department. Reporting into the Manager of Scheduling. Collaborate with the full department in the execution of long and short term scheduling strategies including the development of stunts, promotions and other scheduling ideas. Manage schedule documents and calendars including the input of programming information into applicable scheduling systems. Track and update competitive information. Serve as liaison to internal and external contacts for disseminating information and answering questions. Support department with special projects.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Key participant in the scheduling of AMC’s U.S. and Canada platforms.
• Manage, strategize and distribute AMC Canada schedules.
• Enter schedule details into applicable systems including Rights Logic, Wide Orbit and Excel.
• Work with the Operations team to request and manage program versions and formats scheduled to air.
• Collate and distribute original series metadata and field listings inquiries.
• Develop and maintain various platform tracking documents.
• Track relevant competitive programming information by monitoring trade publications.
• Monitor and analyze ratings performance.
• Collaborate with the department in the brainstorming and development of stunts, promotions and other scheduling strategies.
• Support department in ad hoc ratings analyses and special projects.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
• Promo Planning/Ad Sales Traffic – Coordinate pending schedule changes, off-clock timings and entry into scheduling systems.
• Research – Collaborate with the Research team on analyses and special projects.
• Operations – Serve as point person for requesting versions from Ops and field any related questions.
• Program Inventory Management – Notify and seek to resolve rights conflicts as flagged by scheduling system.
• External Listings Contacts – Field questions from listings services on original series metadata as well as correcting any scheduling discrepancies.
• Digital – Coordinate efforts around short-form programming and its placement.
QUALIFICATIONS(Required & Preferred)
• Min years of experience – At least two years of program scheduling or related experience required.
• Technical experience – Excellent Excel skills. Understand how to read/utilize/report viewer research data. Knowledge of scheduling-related databases preferred.
• Degree and Certifications – Bachelor’s Degree preferably within a film or television-related major.
• Managerial experience – Effective communicator as this position operates under specific timelines and interacts with other departments within the company. This role involves working with research data and inputting programming information into multiple scheduling systems. A high attention to detail/accuracy is absolutely required.
