Part Time Promotions Assistant
Cumulus Media’s Wilmington location is offering a great opportunity in the promotions side of the radio broadcasting industry as a part time Promotions Assistant. Our ideal candidates should possess an extremely good work ethic, be a self-starter, and highly organized with the ability to work in a fast-paced office environment. You will work closely with the Promotions & Marketing Director to carry out the goals of the Promotions Department. Our Opportunity
Cumulus Media Wilmington, NC is searching for part time Promotions Assistants for our cluster of radio stations including; Today’s Hits & Yesterday’s Favorites AC WGNI 102.7, Cape Fears Country Leader WWQQ 101.3, Mainstream Urban Coast 97.3 WMNX, Classic Rock WKXS 94.5 The Hawk, and News Talk Sports 980 AM WAAV The Wave. We're looking for reliable applicants with a solid work ethic, flexible schedule and clean driving record since you'll be driving radio station vehicles. If hired, you´ll be responsible for a variety of duties like setting up and running station events, broadcasts and appearances including interacting with listeners, clients and on-air personalities as well as other promotional and marketing duties.
Responsibilities/Requirements
• Scheduling on-air giveaways via vPromotions
• Produce recaps after conclusion of promotions
• Website management, including updating station contests, and other promotions for station sites; prize management via vPromotions; inventory and maintenance of prize closet
• Data Entry for promotional events and contesting
• Represent the station when needed at on-site appearances and events
• Social media posting, review promotional content and graphics for accuracy
• Produce bi-weekly email newsletter to station(s) database ensuring station and sponsor content is included, as promised and scheduled
• Point of contact for client events and management of client appearances and remotes
• Participate in promotions and client meetings as required/necessary
• Works with Promotion/Sales/Programming departments to develop successful promotional concepts for station
• Maintain promotional calendar
• Manage legal and insurance requirements for station contest
• Manage station contest rules creation and approval
• Computer literacy in applicable programs including: Photoshop, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, vCreative, vPromotions, Adobe Audition
• Available to work flexible hours including weekdays, weekends, and holidays when required
• Execute technical and physical set-up and breakdown of remote broadcasts and station events and board operate in studio during remote broadcasts as needed
• Must be a professional with a customer focus. All employees are expected to bring a positive attitude to the workplace and be cheerful, cooperative, and productive
• Represent station and client in a professional manner at station remote broadcasts and events
• Interact with listeners and clients with a customer service mentality
• Drive and maintain station vehicles
• Monitor condition of remote equipment and station vehicles
• Must be able to lift objects at least 50 lbs.
• Assist station On-Air Personalities as needed at remotes
• Reports to the Director of Promotions and Marketing
Qualifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office complete suite of software including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel, proficient in managing social networking platforms, basic graphic design skills using available software
• Excellent writing and editing skills; proficient in grammar, excellent focus and strong attention to details, ability to follow up and complete projects, ability to plan, organize, set priorities and multi task in a very fast-paced environment.
• Pleasant, charismatic and capable of working in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, collaborative environment.
Work Experience
• 2+ years radio and/or promotional and marketing experience preferred
Education
• College degree preferred, preferably in Broadcast Journalism or Communications
