The Senior Clinical Lead, Educational Strategy and Content is an advanced professional in a leadership position, possessing specialized combined skills in medical writing, educational design innovation, and grant development. He/she conducts and leads a team in a turnkey process of educational strategy design, grant development, content development and implementation. He/she is a self-starter with extensive experience in independently designing and developing continuing education activities for healthcare professionals, and is able to mobilize a team effort to accomplish goals. In this role, the Senior Clinical Lead collaborates with other department colleagues, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to obtain the most clinically relevant, timely, accurate, and strategically aligned content to meet diverse audience needs. He/she conducts timely, strategic oversight and mentoring of his/her team to design and develop educational and research grants, grant concepts, and program content in the therapeutic areas assigned to his/her team. He/she also oversees and develops abstracts for scientific posters and podium presentations at leading medical meetings, as well as journal articles for peer-reviewed publications to showcase the results of the company’s educational projects. The Senior Clinical Lead reports directly to the Chief Scientific Officer, although he/she will also work dynamically with other therapeutic area (TA) clinical and team leads to achieve the department’s mission and goals.
Position Duties:
• Proactively identify and enable business development and strategically aligned opportunities for grant concepts in assigned therapeutic areas
• Lead the assigned TA team in, and conduct planning, prioritizing, and development of grants to meet department goals and address unmet educational needs
• Strategically create and lead educational designs, formats, planning, and execution plans for proposed educational programs
• Oversee and train team members in, and independently conduct content development that results in high-caliber, high-impact, and scientifically accurate education
• Conduct timely, effective, and strategic oversight of the assigned TA team to maximize efficiency, accuracy, and relevancy of assigned projects
• Establish and maintain relationships among key opinion leaders in various practice settings and stakeholder groups in order to collect expert opinion and insight for grant and content development
• Contribute to the outcomes measurement of high-impact educational programs, including measurement planning, survey instrument development, and program analyses
• Contribute to scientific articles, abstracts, and outcomes-based presentations and publications to exemplify the services and products of the company
• Effectively communicate and carry out opportunities, needs, ideas, and timelines to meet the company’s and department’s goals for continued growth and success
• Proactively and effectively identify and resolve instructional design or content development issues, project assignment issues, or other issues that can impair performance
• Perform Other duties as assigned
Candidate Requirements:
• Minimal Master’s degree (PhD degree preferred) in a scientific and communications or related field commensurate with the scope of work identified
• Proficient in multi-tasking and balancing/managing multiple projects
• Current knowledge of the healthcare industry, pharmaceutical pipelines, and clinical trial design
• Demonstrated knowledge of continuing medical education, andragogy, and self-directed learning
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and supervise in a team-based environment
• Proficiency in analytical thinking and an ability to convey complex date results in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to efficiently gather data from current, appropriate, verifiable sources for grant and content development, and organize sources via AMA formatting
• Possess creative and visionary skills to identify and execute innovative educational program designs and formats
• Established publication record, including authorship of peer-reviewed scientific journal articles
• Excellent command of the English written language, including grammar and punctuation
• Ability to work full time onsite
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Excel, Word
