Job Description
What You’ll Do:
This Product Manager will work to define, build and manage an exciting new proprietary native app used by millions of Americans. This role will work closely with an external agency, internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, our reporters and our internal software design and development teams. You will define user stories, acceptance criteria, groom backlogs, help prioritize features and ultimately, bring a new app to market. Come join us.
Responsibilities:
• Bring a fresh perspective to TEGNA’s native apps
• Work closely with an external agency
• Work closely with our stakeholders to identify user needs and pain points to inform the product roadmap
• Help an external agency navigate a large corporate ecosystem, gather information and insights to define, design, build and deploy a new native application across iOS and Android phone and tablet devices
• Review designs, documentation and development deliverables
• Help shape features through thoughtful data collection, insightful observations, and careful analysis
• Assist in Quality Assurance for new features
• Create customer-facing documentation and guide Knowledge Management, Training and Support
• Proactively assist in the management and prioritization of a backlog
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• Demonstrated ability to set aggressive goals and achieve results
• Understanding of journalism, digital workflow, and the current media landscape
• Analytical and strategic in the way you approach and solve problems
• Hands-on experience with web technologies – specifically native apps
• Knowledge of project management tools
• Able to accurately handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Detail-oriented with excellent organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Able to work well independently and as a member of a larger team
• Exceptional collaborator and communicator (written, verbal)
• Up-to-date and knowledgeable about the latest trends, innovations, and media best practices
