This position will be responsible for transaction tax, federal and state regulatory filings along with the filing of business licenses. This role continually monitors financial control processes and ensuring that accounting transactions are executed in accordance with established standards of internal control.
• Coordinate and participate in the monthly closing process for assigned area of responsibility.
• Prepares and reviews regulatory, tax and business license filings.
• Monitors and understands the telecommunications tax and regulatory environment including Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC).
• Analyzes financial reports and records, making accounting and operational improvements.
• Represents the department on internal initiatives regarding regulatory and tax matters. Provides technical/functional regulatory expertise within the department.
• Works with U.S. Cellular customers on regulatory discount program filings as required.
• Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
• Under supervision, performs work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character.

• Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business strongly desired.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in transaction tax, regulatory compliance or accounting is required.
• Strong PC literacy skills in a Windows environment with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Access and Word).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management and associates.

• Normal office working environment.
• Occasional requirement for overtime.
• Light travel.
