Job Description:
Integrations Analyst, Media Technology & Data, Software Solutions
Job Summary:
As the Integrations Analyst, you will be an integral part of the Software Slutions
team. The Integrations Analyst is tasked with defining projects to add data sources
into Horizon Media’s institutional data warehouse. For each project, the role must
identify the method of data provided (API, flat file, database connector, etc.), frequency
of updates, field mappings, normalization needs, data volume, data storage
plan, time estimates, and resource requirements. Create project plans and compose
detailed functional specifications to serve as the guidance for developers to properly
integrate the source into the data structure.
Responsibilities:
Strategy/Business
• Full lifeycle Project Management experience a must -- demonstrating the ability
to write specifications, approve, execute, and deliver projects on-time
• Collaborate with Software Solution team members and other staff to accurately
specify the tasks and design criteria for the data integration projects
• Create mock-ups or data samples where needed to convey requirements for the
development effort accurately
• Provide descriptive technical detail to convey transformation requirements for
formats, calculations, time zone offsets, concatenations, parsing, etc.
• Strong knowledge of coding SQL structures including Functions (Tabular & Scalar),
Stored Procedures, in-memory processing objects, etc.
• Review coded integration routines to validate that the routine(s) achieve the objective
of the written specification and the spirit of the data use expected
Communications
• Communicate with Software Solution developers, Business Consultants, and the AD, Media Technology & Data, Software Solutions to update status on current
projects, convey issues encountered, and educate them on determined issue
resolutions
• Communicate to key stakeholders when additional sources are successfully added
into the data warehouse and convey the value of these sources to the business
users
Qualifications:
• 2-3 years experience project managing large volume “Big Data” storage and processing
projects
• Well versed in data structure design and implementation
• Proficient in the object oriented programing concept and design patterns
• Familiar with SOAP and REST (ful) protocols, and best-practices for data retrieval
using these protocols
• Technical writing experience for API integrations in common languages including
Microsoft .NET, Java, and Python
• High level comprehension of the need to cast specific variable types to other
types when changing processing languages
• Can clearly state scope of a project and manage the project to remain in scope or
properly document the scope change and associated value of the deviation
• BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field; or
equivalent experience. Masters degree preferred
• (Desired not required) Knowledge of the media transactional process, order of
operations, financial procedures, and dependencies across all media channels
