Job Summary
The Assistant Media Buyer is an entry-level position where the candidate will assist the Buyers, Supervisors & Directors in stewardship of advertisement placement buys across multiple accounts on the local level. The Assistant Buyer’s role is to gain an understanding of the audio and video landscape and negotiation process that will ultimately lead to advancement to Buyer in audio and video. This includes marketplace trends and a holistic top-line view of all audio and video platforms including AM/FM radio, digital audio, satellite, podcasting, cable, broadcast television and digital video.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• Media schedule data management – 95%
◦ Communicate effectively across media outlets and with sales representatives
◦ Request pre-logs and post-logs from media vendors
◦ Input/check post-logs in Core (response analysis system)
◦ Gather ad rates, and send schedules to media outlets
◦ Confirm media schedules
◦ Work across brand planning & other activation teams to ensure best results for client
◦ Manage traffic needs
• Clerical – 5%
◦ Check invoices and resolve media billing discrepancies

Knowledge and Skills Required
• Bachelor’s Degree or above
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (especially Excel)
• Experience working in fast-paced environment and able to multi-task
• Flexible multi-tasker with the ability to follow directions
• Detail-oriented and comfortable working with numbers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Enthusiastic, outgoing and curious demeanor
