The Director of Optimization Solutions will be responsible for the development and implementation of optimization algorithms for proposals, schedules and pricing. This engineering leader will apply mathematical models to provide the best possible results of iHeart’s proposal quoting and scheduling applications. Successful execution of this role will combine the ability to implement optimization solutions at scale and the ability to make complex optimization solutions simple for peers in IT and business.
Responsibilities
• Lead the optimization solutions team
• Act as primary point of contact for all optimization support request in the Sales and AdTech domain
• Analyze business problems and oversee the development of mathematical models
• Design technical solutions to implement these models at scale and in real time
• Evaluate the accuracy of optimization solutions
• Oversee the integration of optimization solutions with other IT applications and datasources
• Ensure high quality of the implementation of optimization solutions

• Ability to plan and deliver implementation projects
• Ability to map real world business problems and business issues to analytical models that can be used to address them
• Ability to communicate technical solution architectures, mathematical model outputs to business stakeholders
• Experience with linear optimization, statistical methods, engineering methods, and operational mathematics techniques and the estimation of benefits from using analytical models
• Expertise in Statistical computing packages (R, Python), Data Analysis using SQL, Optimization software/Modeling languages (Premium Solver, AMPL, CPLEX, COIN-OR, Gurobi)
• Ability to apply multi-variable, complex statistical analysis on large data sets to gain useful insights into the data and detect trends and outliers/invalid data conditions present in the data sets
Experience
• Ph. D and 5 years of experience. In lieu of PhD, Master’s degree in Operations Research, Economics, Engineering or another applied mathematics discipline with 6+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in state of the art methods in mathematical optimization, linear & integer programming, revenue management, machine learning and forecasting
• Strong familiarity with modern analytics toolsets including AWS
• Experience in media, advertising or transportation/hospitality industries is a plus
• Experience in work process optimization through algorithmic solutions is a plus
