SUMMARY:
The Project Manager has responsibility for assigned project components (Scope, Schedule, Cost etc.) and successful completion. To succeed in this responsibility, the Project Manager must work closely with the Director, Program and Project Management to ensure that adequate methodology and resources are applied. This position will use project methodologies to drive the planning and implementation of projects. This position will require working across various organizations within Mediacom including Engineering & Provisioning, Network Operations, Service Delivery, Information Technology and Marketing to oversee the development and execution of project plans. Candidate must have strong leadership, relationship management, negotiation, and communication and project management skills and must feel comfortable taking direction from members of the senior leadership team.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Use Project Management methodology to define and manage completion of project tasks, activities and milestones to ensure successful completion of projects within scope, schedule and budget
2. Monitors project progress, update schedules and milestone progress through structured communication touch points (Targeted emails, Meetings, Phone Calls).
3. Confers with and represents the PMO / department in meetings; fosters collaborative working relationships with multiple Mediacom departments and to the benefit of the PMO
4. Acts as a communications conduit to manager and/or director and associated business/technology leaders by one-on-one meetings and conducting periodic briefings/status updates, as necessary.
5. Manages escalations and resolutions of roadblocks impacting project/milestone delivery; Escalates issues requiring action or decisions, as necessary
6. Use a task management system or tracker to identify risks, issues and gaps; develops corresponding mitigation plans
7. Manages the scheduling and attendance for Project Status Meetings; Maintains / Approves Meeting Notes and Action Item Logs
8. Understands and reinforces processes; is proactive in identifying and implementing process improvements that will ensure the operational efficiency of the team and the success of projects
9. Prepares Project Status Reports for management as required.
10. Complies with Mediacom requirements for employee performance management
Key Competencies:
• Demonstrated expertise in related industry
• Demonstrated understanding of data services/solutions
• 2-5 years of experience managing technical projects
• Project Management training; knowledge of project management techniques and tools
• Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited direction
• Prior success within a Project environment
• Possess organizational skills and technical skills required to complete assigned Project
• Possess diplomacy in dealing with vendors, management, consultants, and assigned staff; able to participate and contribute to a goal-oriented team and assist in leading Project to completion
• Able to prioritize, anticipate challenges, adapt to change
• Demonstrated Process Improvement Experience

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 4 year college degree in business or related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Must have knowledge of Project Management Methodology.
• Possess requisite knowledge and technical skills for assigned Project, as evidenced either through education or prior work experience

• Experience with managing budgets and people
