iClicker’s mobile experience is a foundational element in our overall product strategy. In this role, you will ensure that our mobile architecture and mobile development capabilities foster continuous innovation on the iClicker roadmap.
What?
This is a player/coach Engineering management role, leading a team of mobile developers as we continue to build out SaaS products focused on classroom engagement (iClicker) and improving student outcomes.
Some key responsibilities of this role:
• Guidance of “the craft” for iClicker mobile development (best practices, tools, design patterns).
• Coaching, mentoring and development of your team.
• Making direct contributions to product/feature development. We believe our leads should remain active in the codebase.
• In collaboration with leadership from Engineering, UX and Product teams, blend technology into our product roadmap that supports short-term needs and fuels long-term vision.
• Increase the visibility of performance, helping drive data driven decisions.

Your experience should include many of the following:
• 8+ years in software development
• 2+ years serving in a team leadership/mentoring capacity
• 4+ years in mobile development (including both Android and iPhone)
◦ Experience creating native mobile applications that can run on the Android (Java, Kotlin) and iOS (Objective-C, Swift) mobile platforms
◦ Solid understanding of Android and iOS SDKs and ecosystem
◦ Skills with integrating mobile applications with back-end servers (REST, web sockets, GraphQL, JSON, XML) and implementing data serialization and deserialization
• Technology
◦ Working knowledge of the mobile landscape, architectures and trends
◦ Experience with third-party libraries and integrations including Fabric, Crashlytics, Google Analytics, and more.
◦ Experience with Git, writing unit tests, continuous deployment, and code documentation
• Agile development practices (Scrum, Kanban)
• CI / CD experience
Bonus points for...
• Demonstrated success driving to fully-automated mobile testing.
• Demonstrated success driving significant shift(s) in technology to better meet roadmap goals.
• Familiarity with one or more mobile application development platforms/frameworks (PhoneGap, Titanium, Xamarin, React Native).
• Experience building enterprise-level SaaS products
