Requirements
Major Responsibilities:
• Tracking titles and PO’s to ensure adequate stock levels and advise reps of any challenges with a title or shipment.
• Sales Analysis- including researching comp titles sales and covers, providing recommendations for backlist promotions and compiling annual sales/returns data for account reps and publishers.
• Liaise between other departments and the account managers and clients and provide timely feedback between accounts and publishers. This includes but is not limited to, attending weekly marketing meetings, attending monthly print order meetings, reviewing account sell-in with publishers and relaying feedback.
• Composing directories, informational grids and publicity manuals for use by the account reps.
• Full administration of our Strict On -Sale Document program which governs the release of the company’s most important titles.
Required Skills / Knowledge:
• Complete knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of programs
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills
• A commanding approach to meeting deadlines and balancing management’s obligations
• Attend publisher meetings and in house sales conferences while taking any necessary notes and following up in a timely manner
• The ability to build strong working relationships both in house and out of house with field reps is critical
• The ability to work with all levels of senior management personnel is very important.
• Must have excellent organizational skills
Experience Needed:
• Some background in either publishing or the retail book business would be beneficial but not required
Educational Background Required:
• A College degree from a certified university (B.A. or B.S.) is preferred
