Midroll Media, the world's largest podcasting company, is hiring a Manager of Revenue Strategy to help its ever-growing sales and partnership teams better optimize in an exciting and still expanding industry.
Midroll provides monetization solutions for 300+ podcasts. Our teams work with more than 750 advertisers, offering advertising and paywalled content opportunities on shows from Marc Maron, Bill Simmons, Oprah Winfrey, the NFL, and many more. We are actively growing our show rooster, our sales footprint, and our teams. We need your help providing key insights and identifying areas of opportunities that shape the network's strategy.
As the Manager of Revenue Strategy, you'll report directly to Midroll's SVP of Sales & Partnership. Your job will be to closely monitor inventory, pricing, and insights on a podcast-by-podcast and network-wide basis, looking for trends by show, by advertiser, by advertiser category, and more. You'll advise the SVP of Sales & Partnership on pricing, category inventory needs, and overall yield optimization.
You'll need impressive organization skills and be exceedingly comfortable with spreadsheets. You will analyze historical sales performance to advise where the market is going, what factors most influence inventory demand, and consult on total revenue potential of the existing portfolio.
What you'll do:
• Analyze podcast inventory, sell-through and pricing to advise on rates
• Identify underperforming and overperforming podcasts and podcast categories
• Predict podcast sell-through and revenue potential based on historical performance
• Analyze and adjust show forecasts (i.e., episode download projections) based on performance
• Manage our proprietary inventory and order management tool
• Identify trends in performance and new business opportunities (for example, international audience and monetization development)
• Responsible for keeping sales policies documented and accurate
• Manage approvals for sales packages and inventory requirements
What you bring:
• Bachelor's degree, master's degree preferred
• 7+ years' experience preferred, with a focus on data-drive analysis, identifying trends and business opportunities, and operating in a cross-functional structure
• Enthusiasm for content, specifically podcasting as a medium
• Strong analytical skills--leveraging large data sets to drive insights and recommendations
• Strong proficiency in Excel functionality and modeling capabilities
• Cooperative and someone who excels in team environments
• Familiarity with content models, podcasting specifically a plus
