Job Description
The Manager for Global Hosting Capacity Planning and Management will lead, plan, manage CenturyLink’s Hosting Infrastructure relating to the Hosting Area Network (HAN), Hosting Compute, Software licenses and Customer technical decommissioning activities. The Manager/Sr. Manager is responsible to develop multi-year capacity plan, identify capacity need, develop both capital and operating expenditure, manage the day to day capacity environment and work with various organization to ensure timely and on budget deployment in supportive of the platform he/she is responsible for. The Manager/Sr. Manager interfaces with product, engineering, operations, finance, sourcing, and vendors/suppliers so he/she is abreast with the product and services CenturyLink is providing to our customer along with where the technology is heading. The Manager/Sr. Manager will drive automation, reporting that is needed to proper manage the capacity environment, increase the team efficiency and follow CenturyLink’s strict change management policy/process for executing any technical decommission activities. The Manager will provide technical guidance and leadership to his/her engineers in relating to any, timely and flawless technical decommission activities.
• Plan, Manage and Lead the team to ensure optimal capacity and funding are in place to support Hosting Area Network, Compute and Software license environment globally. This includes creating multi-year plan, funding requirement, day to day capacity management, optimizing and timely deployment and recovery of asset (both physical and logical)
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to the engineers and other organization members in relating to Hosting customer technical decommission task and activities. This includes following CenturyLink Change Management policy/process and flawlessly execute technical logical activities within live CenturyLink Hosting environment that covers hosting network, storage, backup, compute and security platform/devices
• Optimize, analyze and recommend actions on platform hardware, logical capacity to maximize the resources availability (e.g. ports, CPU. Storage disk capacity etc.)
• Drive material and labor cost reductions in all aspect of infrastructure
• Provide input and interact with various organization (both internal and external) on the platform he/she is responsible for. This includes thoroughly understand the demand driver, technology direction, design and architecture, and aware of activities that may impact the capacity availability for CenturyLink customers
• Accurate report capacity utilizations on a weekly / monthly bases across the platform layer he/she is responsible for
• Manage analytical projects by quickly understanding context and developing structured analysis to reach alignment and provide guidance to senior stakeholders
• Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision making within senior-level audiences
Qualifications
• A thorough understanding and knowledge of network (routing e.g. vrf, IP assignments, Compute, and software licenses environment (OS, Virtual Machines etc.) and the latest technology trend (e.g. SDN, automation etc.)
• A deep knowledge in the planning and financial management environment (e.g. various trending methodology, balance sheet, amortization etc.)
• Strong knowledge in the hosting and cloud environment
• Successful track record of dealing with various aspect of IT infrastructure management as well as Data Center building management systems
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communications skills are a must.
• Ability to create, manage and execute comprehensive feasibility processes and plans.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
These skills are normally acquired through a combination of a relevant qualification in a technical field and industry experience.
EDUCATION OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE
• BA/BS Degree in engineering or technical field. MS/MBA preferred
• 10 Years of people management experience
• Extensive knowledge in Network, Hosting space to include the supporting environment (e.g. Data Center setup) is a must

Bachelors or Equivalent in Information Systems or Engineering General
Masters or Equivalent in Business
