We're looking for a Senior Front-End Development Lead to join our New York City Technology team.
A Senior Front-End Development Lead is a senior contributor to the experience and front-end engineering team and subject matter expert who leads in the design and implementation of experience solutions for a client project. The lead will collaborate within a team of technologists to produce the customer experience for our clients' needs. This role bridges the creative, user experience and backend technical aspects of project delivery.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Translate client business requirements into a front-end technical design with infrequent oversight.
• Define experience engineering technical tasks required to implement a user experience & creative design.
• Serve as a technical resource and subject matter expert during the software development life cycle, from implementation and testing to documentation, delivery and maintenance.
• Deliver high quality work with little oversight.
• Take on the more challenging tasks and assignments.
• Develop applications using HTML, CSS, JS and other UI frameworks.
• Works to mitigate risk and escalate issues or challenges to the technology team lead or mentor.
• Mentor and support junior team members.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior team members.
• Actively leading in the experience engineering department.
Requirements
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent education/professional experience is required.
• 5+ years of experience hand-coding and architecting HTML5, CSS3, jQuery/JavaScript, and other UI technologies, with multiple years also spent architecting solutions.
• Proficiency with JavaScript-based animation.
• 4+ years experience working with back-end frameworks used to develop web pages (ASP.NET/JSP/PHP, Node.js, etc.).
• Experience designing and developing in CMS platforms such as Adobe Experience Manager, Acquia, Sitecore, etc.
• Experience architecting, developing and testing across multiple browsers and platforms including mobile devices.
• Experience developing and testing across multiple browsers, DOM implementations, etc.
• Mastery of progressive enhancement concepts, responsive design, Mobile First, MVC and object-oriented development.
• Experience developing accessible websites.
• Proficiency implementing analytics and SEO solutions.
• Experience working with social and other back-end APIs.
• Skill or capability mastery in a relevant technology area.
• Ability to rapidly learn new languages, tools, and techniques as needed to meet project requirements.
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams with other individuals.
• Ability to work around unknowns and design fault-tolerant, scalable solutions.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, technical environment.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to detail and quality.
• Experience developing and testing across multiple browsers, DOM implementations, etc.
• Experience using back-end frameworks to develop dynamic web pages.
• General familiarity with source control and build/dependency management system (Git, SVN, TFS, Maven, Gradle, etc.).
