Programmatic Lead

Sony Pictures is rethinking Digital Marketing, building a best-in-class data foundation and launching an In-House Digital Media Buying team. This team will be entrepreneurial at its core: laying the foundation of a new internal marketing function and growing and evolving to meet the needs of Sony’s business. All members are expected to come in with a start-up mentality (ambitious, hands-on, etc) – eager to build the future digital-first workforce of Sony Pictures.
The Programmatic Lead – Programmatic will be tasked with laying the vision and foundation of the new in-house programmatic team, overseeing group buying and analytics, and developing junior members of the team. In addition, the Programmatic Lead will have fiscal responsibility, managing budgets, monitoring execution, and billing for all in-house buying.
Tactically, the Programmatic Lead will accomplish these goals by
1) building team processes and workflows across the media performance team,
2) working with internal planning teams to translate programmatic brief and aligning testing initiatives goals into executable actions,
3) educating teams about audience buying
For success in this role, it is imperative the Programmatic Lead be ambitious, self-starting, disciplined and curious in programmatic. He/She will have to be data and number-driven while being able to manage all programmatic campaigns from end-to-end, with hands on keyboard from time to time.
Job Duties:
The Programmatic Lead will be responsible to work with internal team to lead in-house programmatic display, & video campaigns while developing best-practices across all releases. It includes developing and implementing 1st party audience/data strategy across large volumes of various 1P sources & complex activations.; Establishing workflow across multiple DSPs; Establishing best practices in PMP negotiations and implementations, including:
• Overseeing day-to-day workflow and ensure all campaigns performance tracks toward goals. He / She will also participate in the campaign QA process and ensure all campaigns executed flawlessly.
• Responsible to manage the relationship with vendors and 3rd party services. He / She will help develop industry trends and new technology POVs and share the findings with the internal team.
• Lead in developing weekly / campaign-end performance report for the Sony Media team, which will provide analysis, actionable insights, and visualization.
• Oversee the media spending and billing actualizations for the group.
• On job training is important for the team as programmatic is an evolving business. In addition, the Manager will be responsible to regularly assesses current processes and provides solutions to improve efficiency through process optimization.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree
• 8-10 years of experience
• Proficient in other MS Office products like Word and PowerPoint
• Advanced experience in working with Excel (e.g. PivotTables, Pivot Graph, Data Table, etc.)
Knowledge of:
• Must have hands-on execution experience
• Digital media/marketing landscape – with a focus on addressable media
• Professional experience managing end-to-end programmatic media planning, buying, testing, creative development and ongoing optimizations with DSP platforms.
• Social buying platform (Facebook, Twitter, etc) experience is a plus
• Familiar with digital media metrics and measurement tools
• Working knowledge in technologies such as The Trade Desk, DoubleClick Bid Manager, Brightroll/Yahoo Ad Manager+, AOP, AAP, or GDN
• Programmatic fees, actualization costs, billing, etc
• Experience with DoubleClick, Innovid, and other 3rd party tracking solutions needed
• Understands HTML, Javascripts, API and other web technologies
Ability To:
• Proactive in producing solutions while foreseeing issues
• Analyze and interpret large amounts of data
• Develop work processes for junior team members to follow through the campaign
• Articulating complex tech-related issues and educating ranges of audiences
• Work under pressure and with short deadlines across multiple teams with fragmented, vertical (title-by-title) priorities
