Job Summary
The Brand Strategy Supervisor is a central facet within the Brand Strategy team. Working under the guidance of the Brand Group Director, the Brand Strategy Supervisor constructs the strategic foundation for media plan development and ensures consistency across all channels. As a key agency contact, he/she maintains strong relationships with clients, partner agencies, media vendors and internal departments. The Brand Strategy Supervisor applies his/her knowledge of industry trends and Horizon’s consumer/channel insight resources to offer the clients fresh thinking. He/she supervises all team projects, ensuring they are completed accurately and on time and reflect both practical and strategic thinking.
Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and partner agencies at appropriate level, by serving as the key agency contact
• Guide the team in translating client goals into strategic media solutions that grow our client’s brands, and ensure strategic consistency across all elements of plan development and implementation
• Lead research initiatives, identifying tools and resources that will aid in the consumer insight gathering and strategic planning process
• Share evolving media trends and opportunities with peers and clients, ensuring recommendations look to incorporate both existing media as well as emerging creative communication channels
• Supervise the development of media briefs and the strategic and tactical execution of all media buys, ensuring all strategic direction and timelines are clearly communicated to the inner-agency teams
• Oversee the accuracy and timeliness of account management and buy maintenance
Supervisory Responsibilities
• Guide team in setting goals and project tasks & timelines, ensuring team members has challenging, level-appropriate projects and opportunities to learn new skills
• Manage performance review of Assistant and Sr./Strategist, coaching to maximize success, identifying training needs for improved performance, setting goals for career development and ensuring actions are taken
• Participate in interview process for Assistant and Sr./Strategist roles
Knowledge and Skills Required
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience developing strategic media recommendations and stewarding media account projects
• Experience utilizing multiple media channels
• Familiarity with marketing principles, analytics and concepts
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and media research/reporting resources
• Prior experience in a Client contact and leadership role
• Strong leadership and supervisory experience in terms of developing media professionals, with ability to manage a team of 1-2 people
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; able to confidently present and “sell through” ideas both internally and to Clients
