USA Telco Buyer
about the role
An Orange Business Services Telco Buyer is repsonsible for the application of the 7-Steps Sourcing methodology in the USA with respect to providers of local access, national backbone, and international backbone services. The successful candidate must be able to plan, execute, and conclude an RFP with an executed contract. Superb negotiation skills are required. The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of relevant experience in sourcing and procurement of network services in the USA. Candidates without such experience will not be considered.
• Co-develop and execute the US country strategy, roadmap and demand plan.
• Primary point of contact within Orange Business Services, for post sales quoting requests in the US.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities and establish sources for new technologies and in new markets as business requirements dictate.
• Lead negotiations and development of supplier agreements that support sourcing strategies and business objectives: SLAs, New technology, term and conditions, incentives, rate schemes and migration projects etc.
• Identify and recommend alternative sources of supply to reduce operating costs, lead-times, and support corporate cost savings targets.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the Orange tools, systems, and processes required to provide quality customer support. Such as quoting tools, processes between sourcing and other entities. Effective customer support and communication between sourcing and other entities
about you
• Degree in business, or science (or other relevant area).
• Supply chain or procurement certification.
• Minimum of 5 years in sourcing or supply chain within the telecom or IT industry.
• Good level of practiced technical knowledge.
Ability to:
• Engage with internal stakeholders as required.
• Effectively communicate and present to committees.
• Conduct market research.
• Understand financial concepts (e.g., time value of money) & cost structures / models, & determining financial impact of decisions.
