Description
Ziff Davis LLC is looking for a Staff Accountant to join its revenue team. The position will support the Everyday Health businesses. The individual will be responsible for account reconciliations, monthly accounting closing tasks and accounting across the Everyday Health brands. This role will also work on varied projects related to budgeting, forecast, product planning and other performance guidance updates. The individual will report directly to the Assistant Controller of Everyday Health and work closely with the different accounting and financial planning teams across the combined Company.
Responsibilities Include:
• Preparation of revenue and expense transaction entries for input into the general ledger accounting system.
• Partner with sales and ad operations departments to ensure the Company properly recognizes revenue as part of the financial statement close.
• Assist in the management of customer contracts within the Company’s contract entry system.
• Manage the Company’s invoicing process to its customers to ensure timely billing.
• Preparation of month-end balance sheet reconciliations and income statement account analysis.
• Monitoring intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Maintaining files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with Company policy and accepted accounting practices.
• Responding to accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting business unit and departmental financial data.
• Completing external audit requests by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts; providing information for auditors.
• Protecting an organization's value by keeping financial and operational information confidential.
• Preparation of ad hoc analysis as needed.
Desired Skills and Experience:
• B.S. in Accounting, CPA a plus
• 1 - 3 years related experience accounting experience, preferably within a digital media company
• Knowledge of revenue recognition standards for US GAAP
• Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication.
• Pride in accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment.
• Experience with financial accounting systems (i.e., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics)
• Exposure and experience in Sarbanes Oxley a plus
