Job Summary:
The Associate Director on the Platform Client Solutions team will be responsible for developing the go-to-market strategy and sales enablement for ESPN’s video and data solutions. Specific solutions will include on-demand video, live streaming video, and innovative audience targeting products across ESPN’s multimedia platforms.
In this role, the Associate Director will collaborate across multiple departments including Ad Product, Content Teams, Multimedia Sales, Sports Marketing, Data Solutions and Ad Operations. Fostering a strong team of solution-oriented collaborators will be crucial to success, along with an ability to measure performance of assigned products and apply learnings to inform future development. Communication across teams will also be important, highlighting valuable insights that can drive results and revenue.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the go-to-market strategies of video, data, and audience based ad sales products including packaging, positioning, and internal training
• Understand mechanics and structure of first, second and third party data models and how they translate into audience segments and clusters
• Evaluate and architect video solutions across Desktop, Mobile, App, and OTT
• Understand market demand, competition, customer pain points, and creative trends to inform new ad product development/optimization, strategic partnerships and monetization strategies
• Serve as a video and data ad sales product expert, fostering relationships with key partners across ESPN to exchange insights/best practices and maximize value of video and data solutions
• Work collaboratively with Owned & Operated and Social teams to identify cross-platform video & data capabilities and translate into ad products
• Manage a team of video and data specialists, through consistent feedback and guidance across project management and prioritization
• Consistently drive improvement of measurement and performance of ESPN’s video and data products
Basic Qualifications:
• A minimum of 6 years work experience
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in fast-pace environment required
• Superior interpersonal and written communication skills
• Solution oriented and strong problem solving skills
• Familiar with video ad sales products, audience targeting capabilities, social media platforms and ad operations
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working with video ad sales products/dynamics including pre-roll, mid-roll, viewability, sequential ads, and :06 ads
• Hands on experience with data/audience-based ad sales products including first-party/third-party audience targeting, re-targeting, emotion-based targeting, and data audience segmentation
Required Education
• High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education
• Bachelor’s Degree
