JOB DESCRIPTION
FOX Sports is the flagship network of the FOX Sports Media Group. As America's top-rated network for sports for 16 straight years (1997-2012), FOX Sports boasts rights agreements with each of the nation's highest-rated sports. FOX Sports is the exclusive national over-the-air television rights holder for Major League Baseball, including the All-Star Game, alternating League Championship Series and World Series (2007-2013); the National Football League's NFC package, including the NFC Championship Game and Super Bowls XLV and XLVIII (2006-2013); NASCAR Sprint Cup racing from February through May, including the Daytona 500 (2007-2014); the Big Ten Football Championship Games (2011-16), the AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic and the UEFA Champions League Final.
With the Launch of FS1 and FS2 August 17th, 2013, the FOX Sports Marketing group is now responsible for all on-air promos, print, radio, in-game and on-site activation for FOX as well as both new networks. Programming on the two new cable channels includes live events for NCAA Football and Basketball, UFC, Supercross, UEFA, NASCAR, as well as original programming such as The Ultimate Fighter, The Herd, Garbage Time, and FOX Sports Live.
Current projects and tasks that will be assigned to the intern(s):
• Fox Sports Marketing interns will work closely with three sub-divisions of the Fox Sports Marketing department.
• With our in-house Creative Team, interns will be conducting marketing research and developing on-air promotions. The interns will also be responsible for logging taped material, ordering dubs, providing upkeep of the footage library, and providing production support for our marketing campaigns and individual promo spots.
• With our Operations Team, interns will be assisting with the production planning and distribution of sports promos. They will be responsible for assisting with OAPro (On-Air Promotions project management and work order software) and FOX Media Cloud (serving as a promo library and also as a delivery system to TOC and FOX affiliates) for the Marketing Operations department.
• With our Brand Marketing Team, interns will be assisting with marketing plans and strategies. They will be responsible for research and insight on projects as well as reports to measure campaign effectiveness. Interns will also work closely with digital and social content.
Learning objectives:
Interns will be working in a professional high-paced corporate environment, so they can obtain a better understanding of On-Air Promos and gain direction in their career path.
Qualifications:
• Current enrollment in an undergraduate program.
• Great organizational and communication skills.
• Design, Marketing and/or Communications courses preferred.
• Mac Proficiency and Sports Knowledge a plus.
• Must have a positive attitude, be eager to learn and hard working.
• Exhibit professional appearance, communication and composure when representing Fox Sports
To participate in Fox’s Internship program you must meet the following criteria:
• Applicants must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at an accredited university and be sophomore status or above.
• Be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship by the Company.
