Marketing Manager - Avery, TarcherPerigee
Penguin Random House is seeking a Marketing Manager to generate industry analysis reports and interpret data to best identify and create sales and publishing opportunities for the Avery and TarcherPerigee imprints. Reporting to the Associate Publisher and Director of Marketing and Publicity, the Manager will play an integral role in helping the publishing teams connect books with the appropriate reading audience in the health, wellness, science, cookbook, and mind, body, spirit categories.
Specific responsibilities include:
1. Generating reports and providing analysis in order to identify opportunities that will increase revenue for backlist titles.
2. Identify current marketplace trends and ways to leverage backlist based on those trends.
3. Gathering data and insights from digital ad campaigns on a monthly basis for post-mortem analysis.
4. Brainstorming with the marketing team on the development and strategy of creative digital campaigns, as well as providing real-time and postmortem reporting.
5. Communicating with the sales, marketing and publicity teams to leverage data findings into sales opportunities.
6. Generating data-driven insights, key takeaways, and best practices to shape future marketing efforts.
7. Assisting authors on a case-by-case basis for individual social media growth.

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience; experience with marketing analysis required
• Genuine interest in nonfiction book publishing
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects in a deadline driven environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Knowledge of Facebook Business Manager/Audience Insights, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Amazon Marketing Services, online advertising benchmarks, etc.
• Strong knowledge of social media platforms; experience with social listening tools a plus
