Job Summary
The primary objective of this sales position is to acquire and grow new Software Defined Network / Network Function Virtualization revenue in an assigned regional geography as an overlay services seller to medium, large and complex clients, including state and local government and the education sector. Desired result is acquiring new monthly recurring revenue at or above assigned growth and incremental revenue targets in key Software Defined Network areas. Key function is establishing working relationship with the region’s direct and channel sales account teams, prospecting, qualifying, and closing new Software Defined Network services customers for CenturyLink.
Job Description
• Experience in selling Software Defined Network services, Application and/or outsourced solutions.
• Partner with CenturyLink account managers and customers through a strategic and consultative sales approach to understand their business needs, issues, strategies and priorities to deliver a value-added Software Defined Network services solution.
• Develop and maintain relationships at the ‘C’ level in the pursuit of Software Defined Network sales inside of large commercial and government clients.
• Accountable for meeting and/or exceeding assigned sales objectives and monthly revenue quotas, and building new revenue within a designated region.
• Must provide superior technology and solution knowledge of Software Defined Network services.
• Will build and maintain accurate and up to date strategic account plans associated with regional Software Defined Network services sales opportunities.
• Must be self motivated and self disciplined and provide prompt follow-up to all customer inquiries.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to present in both small and large group settings.
• Must be able to keep organized, accurate records on daily activities and results.
• Will be required to obtain technical certifications.
• Acquire and integrate industry knowledge related to general trends, emerging technologies, and competitors.
• Manage sales funnel to analyze and manage pipeline activity and monitor sales activity against assigned quotas.
Qualifications
• Experience in selling complex IT infrastructure solutions to medium and enterprise businesses.
• Demonstrated success in applying consultative selling techniques to opportunities.
• Proven and verifiable track record in exceeding sales quotas.
• Strong communication skills and presence in communicating with Executives.
• High energy and drive.
• Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Consultative or solutions selling training (Miller Heiman, Sandler, etc.)
• Demonstrated level of success in the development of complex and emerging technology solutions
• Experience with Financial modeling
• Demonstrated experience selling a combination of the following strongly preferred:
◦ IT Infrastructure Services/Outsourcing
◦ Outsourcing services
◦ Professional Services
◦ Managed Network Solutions
• Capacity to work with dynamic product offerings with different underlying technologies
• High level of expertise in Wide Area Networking and Internet solutions
• Ability to understand, explain and execute hybrid networking strategies
• Ability to articulate and evangelize the value of SD-WAN
• Experience with network migration and transformation to virtualization
• Familiarity or experience any with the following vendor solutions:
• Versa Networks
• Viptela/Cisco SDWAN
• SilverPeak
• Talari
• Velocloud/VMWare
• Working knowledge of SaaS and Cloud Service Provider architectures
• Experience with Unified Communications / Collaboration Services.
