The role:
As Sr Director of Product Design you will apply your human-centered design expertise to lead and elevate the design for a number of our fast growing product lines. You approach opportunities from the mindset of the user and are able to articulate and evangelize a compelling vision. Applying human-centered design best practices, you inspire and lead a team of product designers to demonstrate business impact and elevate the overall fan experience. You’re passionate about not just shaping product experiences, but design and culture as well. You guide your team to focus on the problem at hand, but also take time to mentor individual designers growing in their careers. In this role you will:
• Lead a team of product designers, overseeing interaction and visual design with room left over to roll up your sleeves and solve design problems with your craft mastery (i.e. you are a design practitioner and design leader)
• Help drive formative and evaluative research to validate design decisions, partnering with the UX research team
• Clearly set and juggle priorities to focus on the most important issues, enable quick testing iterations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, across many time zones
• Have impact on end-to-end fan experiences
• Drive efforts to instill brand traits into the product experiences from a visual and brand design perspective as well as from a feature development perspective
Qualifications:
• Success influencing passionate and strong-minded leaders outside of the design org
• Extraordinary communication and partnering skills, including prior experience communicating to senior executives
• You’ve collaborated in building scalable design systems that span usage across multiple customer touchpoints
Requirements:
• 12 - 15+ years of designing for digital across all mediums, including responsive web and native app design
• 5+ years leading a team of designers with success mentoring UX and visual designers and hiring design talent
• Availability to liaison with a team in India 1x or 2x a week which means keeping off hours on those days
• Strong presentation skills
