Job Summary
The Primary responsibility of the Technical Project Manager II is to work with government and contractors to manage all aspects of communication implementation projects including coordination of service delivery and provide leadership and management of vendor staff responsible for installing the required infrastructure on-site at Joint Base Lewis McChord in Washington, State.
Job Description
The Technical Project Manager II will work with others in a team environment and as a member of an organization responsible for the coordination of site surveys, installations, circuit delivery, testing and turn-up of communications systems. This effort will require scheduling and coordination of installation vendor activities as well as CenturyLink technical resources to ensure the successful implementation of the communications system equipment up to customer acceptance. This requires inter-departmental teaming, the ability to elicit support from other organizations, communicating with vendors, customer facing management and sales teams and doing whatever is necessary to support the customer’s design and installation needs. The PM may be responsible for overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Defines projects based on Program/customer requirements, schedule planning and implementation, budgeting, and quality control of customer deliverables
• Provides leadership and coordination for assigned projects using a matrix team concept
• Attends various governmental and general meetings as required
• Provides status updates to management and customers as required
• Practice project management and industry best practices to enhance project success and customer satisfaction
• Manage and coordinate ISP/OSP projects from design through customer acceptance.
• Performs Quality Checks (QC) on all site surveys for assigned projects for delivery to customers as required by contracts
• Identifies all problem areas on jobs and discusses with team members and others as needed
• Oversees Subcontractor installation vendors
• Updates the Program Manager weekly on the status of projects or as required. Provides inputs to written weekly reports to customers as required
• Manages and coordinates projects from order through delivery
• Keeps detailed records of daily work/project activities for future reference
• Understands and adheres to company policies and practices
• Ensures the successful completion of customer project requirements
• Coordinates subcontractors and equipment to complete projects on schedule and within budget
• Other related duties as assigned
• Experience producing, proofing, and delivery of contract deliverables
Qualifications
• Requires minimum 3 years experience with project management of a technical nature in the telecommunications field and/or government related utility/communications construction management.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, customer service, account relationship, time management, organizational and negotiating skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Computer literate with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, SharePoint, and the ability to work in other software systems as required
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Able to travel local short notice for surveys, meetings, and inspection work
• Able to work on drawings and spreadsheets for extended periods
• Must possess a clean driving record
• Possess high integrity and ethical behavior
• Flexible, independent decision maker

Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of telephone voice systems and/or related telecom network infrastucture
• General knowledge of Voice and VoIP systems
• Knowledge of communications products, e.g., Voice, Data, Wi-Fi-,IP, VPN, MPLS protocols
• BS in Telecommunications, Technology, MIS/CIS or other related fields
