General Summary
The Desktop System Administrator works in a fast-paced production environment, helping LAIKA’s artists leverage a dizzying array of technology to create world-class artistry. As part of the desktop support team, the Desktop Sys Admin is responsible for all aspects of end user support. Must be able to handle diverse workloads and possess strong troubleshooting and communication skills. Interfaces with IT infrastructure and production technology teams to provide seamless support experience for LAIKA staff.
Essential Job Functions
• Deployment and support of desktop computers, peripherals and applications.
• Operation of help desk software/queue management system.
• Organize and track technology assets for production deployments.
• Work with production departments to troubleshoot issues and identify opportunities.
• Provide the highest level of technology support for the production process.
• Effectively communicate policies and procedures to team members and end users.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• B.S. in computer science or equivalent degree or work experience.
• 3+ years experience supporting Linux and Mac desktops.
• 3+ years experience supporting common productivity applications.
• Experience working with Active Directory or LDAP infrastructure.
• Experience with automation tools such as imaging, configuration management, etc.
• Solid understanding of unix, networking and hardware fundamentals.
• Excellent troubleshooting and escalation management skills.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Windows preferred.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., shell, ruby, python) preferred.
• Experience supporting Maya, Nuke, Houdini or Renderman tools preferred.
• Experience with color management technologies preferred.
Salary
Salary is commensurate with skills and experience.
