Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking a Director, Analytics and Business Intelligence to join the team.
This position is located in our New York, NY office.
Job Overview:
The Director, Analytics and Business Intelligence will lead the IT resources within the Data & Analytics team focused on Analytics activities. This position will partner with the editorial, information technology “IT”, sales, and events communities within Haymarket to drive and educate on standard best practices. The ideal candidate is an expert on Analytical Platforms (specifically GA 360), Google Tag Manager, Google Cloud, and Business Intelligence as well as the developing capabilities in AI, EDW, and ETL.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Maintain and extend strategy for analytics and create a Data & Analytics Community of Excellence
• Influence the Digital team, Business Units, and business functions and champion data driven decisions that help us engage with customers.
• Advocate for, educate, and partner with Analytic Communities to improve the User Experience and Content to leverage insights from analytics to drive business decisions, decide where to invest/divest, and determine priority focus areas
• Establish and oversee IT analytics to shape the analytics offerings, process, and procedures within the Organization
• Distill and synchronize various data sources to develop fact-based and strategically sound recommendations for the business
• Enroll, energize, and enable a multi-functional team behind your strategies for analytics and for the business. The ability to handle complexity and numerous priorities/projects, lead by influence across the organization, and build support behind strategies and proposals.
• Ability to train and educate analytics staff at all levels of skills and expertise
• Oversee career growth and development of analytics staff
• Maintain knowledge base of external business factors (e.g., industry and market changes, competition) when making decisions and constantly nurture the organizational environment in order to encourage innovative ideas and initiatives
Experience, Skills & Knowledge:
• Google Analytics, preferably 360 (need Premium).
◦ At least 4 years, current, hands-on experience. MUST have done implementation
◦ GAIQ certification highly required
• Google Tag Manager (GTM), preferably 360
◦ At least 2 years, current, hands-on experience. MUST have done a GA implementation using GTM
◦ Strong command of JavaScript
◦ Demonstrated experience using the dataLayer objects
• Google BigQuery
◦ 2 years experience with (either) standard or legacy SQL
◦ Certification preferred: https://cloud.google.com/certification/
• SQL mastery
◦ 2+ years continuous, hands-on experience with SQL (preferably SQL Server). Certification a plus
• PowerBI
◦ 1 year familiarity with PowerBI or Tableau
◦ Strong skills in Excel, notably functions. Bonus experience with DAX (language in PowerBI), SSRS, or Vertipaq
• Reporting and Communications
◦ Demonstrated Experience with creating reporting, requirements gathering, project management, excellent likeability, and speaking skills. Must form clear, actionable, and democratic statements.
◦ Proven ability to drive insights
