Job Summary
In addition to its core network and telecommunications offerings, CenturyLink is a global provider of big data and data sciences solutions as part of its IT Services business unit. The mission of the Big Data Science practice is to help clients monetize their data as a strategic asset by providing big data and advanced analytics professional services. The practice leverages its core competencies around Big Data, Data Lifecycle Management, Visualization and Advanced Predictive Analytics (Artificial Intelligence, Statistical Modeling, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, etc) to help clients find key insights and trends within their data thereby enabling better business decision making, driving top line revenue, bottom-line uplift, operational excellence, risk mitigation and regulatory compliance. The Practice also provides its customers a Big Data as a Service managed services solution. The BDaaS offering leverages CenturyLink’s strategic partnership with Cloudera to provide a fully managed end to end Big Data solution to our customers.
Job Description
• Understand and articulate how CenturyLink’ core competencies in the Big Data and Advanced Analytics space can address customers’ data insights, visualization and business decision making needs in the sales, marketing, operations, supply chain, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance area.
• Understand the clients’ business problems and be able to have an intelligent conversation around how CenturyLink can help provide a solution.
• Work with CTL’s direct sellers to position the Big Data Science offerings within the CTL’s existing customers
• Sell Big Data Science offerings through the direct, Cloudera and other partner channels. The primary focus and objective will be to develop new logo business along with the secondary focus on driving incremental business in the existing accounts.
• Establish and maintain executive relationships with the Direct, Cloudera and other partner channels
• Identify leads via channel partners, cold-calling, networking, events etc
• Qualify leads into opportunities; manage the sales cycle and timely follow ups with the internal team and the partner / client personnel
• Lead the development of project proposals including identifying and leading the pursuit team, writing strong value driven executive summaries, ensuring that the proposal completely and accurately addresses the client needs. Generate high impact proposals.
• Maintain sales information, i.e. leads, accounts, contacts, activities and opportunities in a tool like Sales Force.com. Provide reporting on the pipeline to internal leadership
• Close business
• Manage relationships at existing customers to drive additional incremental sales and strong customer retention.
• Quota: the annual earned revenue quota for this position is $10M
• Reports To: This position will report to the GM, Big Data Science Practice.
• Territory: North America
Qualifications
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in selling complex, business and IT consulting services to Direct Customers and Tier 1 global services providers. Well documented track record of leading teams and achieving annual sales quotas of around $ 10-15M
• Recent experience selling software and consulting services engagements in the $500K + range
• Qualified applicants must demonstrate a consistent ability to exceed sales targets on a YOY basis
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and leadership skills.
• Experience in building and maintaining relationships with senior executives
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and outstanding presentation skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced, competitive sales culture
• Ability to travel extensively as required
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills
Education
Masters or Equivalent in Management or Business
Bachelors or Equivalent
