The Media Sales team is a high-performing, high energy and customer focused team of media executives who are passionate about delivering results in a quickly evolving digital environment. Our remit includes driving advertising and solutions sales within the Dow Jones Media Group (DJMG).
The Media Sales team is seeking a Vice President, DJMG Sales to drive revenue within the Media and Marketing Solutions Sales team with a focus on Barron’s, Marketwatch, Financial News, Penta and new product launches from DJMG. This individual will have an unparalleled grasp of financial markets, digital and live marketing as well as custom content. This leader will be able to create unique marketing strategies to help us tell our story, create new solutions for customers and drive our media sales strategy across these products.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Effectively manage a high-performance sales team.
• Deliver on revenue targets.
• In partnership with the General Managers across DJMG, develop strategies for advertising and solutions growth.
• Deliver deep financial / wealth management / personal finance product & industry knowledge and insight in a sales environment.
• Manage sales materials development and coordination for media solutions and partnership propositions including custom content and conferences.
• Build product profile/awareness with internal sales and sales development teams.
• Support product sell-in, working with sector specific client relationship managers.
• Liaise closely with the internal product teams.
• Forge strong relationship with key stakeholders within DJMG.
REQUIREMENTS
• Background in media sales, advertising, media/marketing solutions within large media, digital media company or a financial institution.
• Experience in working with large global accounts and delivering the highest service levels to these clients.
• Deep understanding of the media business (digital, mobile and print products) including key decision makers, business models, competitive forces, and strategic issues.
• Proficiency in financial / wealth management / personal finance product & industry knowledge.
• Comfortable in all selling situations and in interfacing directly with senior decision making clients.
• Ability to influence, develop, and empower colleagues to achieve objectives with a team approach.
• Ability to convert business from other media channels.
• Results and detail oriented.
• Leadership, organizational, and problem solving/decision making skills.
