Production Coordinator - Penguin Books
We are looking for a Coordinator to support the production department that works on distinguished titles for Penguin Books imprints. This person will be responsible for book production and administrative support for first printings for the Penguin Books imprint.
Specifically, the Production Coordinator:
1. Handles all aspects of the production of 30% of Penguin Books titles including maintaining schedules by tracking the progress of titles through production using internal system reporting, estimating, scheduling, and all vendor contact.
2. Assists with the production of all bound galleys.
3. Maintains accurate specifications in SAP.
4. Creates and Issues Purchase orders to component printers and binderies.
5. Checks vendor invoices and ensures quote to billing match.
6. Provides administrative support to the supervisor including up keeping various reports, routing cover materials and pre-flighting printer ready cover files.
7. Assists on special projects with department head as needed.

• 1 year trade book production experience
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organizational, scheduling, and time management skills
• Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a deadline driven environment
• Strong arithmetic skills including the ability to work comfortably with numbers
• Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
