Salem Media Group in Washington, DC is seeking an enthusiastic person to act as the full-time Administrative Assistantin Arlington, Virginia. Salem Media Group of DC includes WAVA AM, WAVA FM, AM 570 “The Answer” and SiriusXM 131 Family Talk.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Accounts Payable
• Manage station Public Files, producing appropriate reports for posting
• Communications with office business vendors
• Write Contracts for General Manager and other Managers as directed
• Assist General Manager with client paperwork and communication, as well as other tasks as directed by General Manager
• Manage business functions of office, as directed by General Manager
• Assist in Website updating and editing
• Assist in creation of Station Media Kit and Sales materials
• Assist General Manager with SMR National Sales Team communications
• Other tasks as assigned by the General Manager
Skills and Abilities Required:
• A very positive happy demeanor and excellent communication skills
• Able to work in a sometimes stressful environment, where speed is important and deadlines loom
• Ability to de-escalate employee, client or vendor issues that could arise
• Highly Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
• Good with numbers and projects involving financial calculations and reports
• Ability to create sales one sheets with graphics; software including Photo Shop, Adobe, Publisher and/or Illustrator
• Ability to work with a team, jumping in on projects outside of regular responsibilities as needed
• Willingness and ability to learn and understand the value of our unique audiences, and the nuances of successfully interacting with the listeners, clients, and constituents of our formats.
