Job Summary
The Lead Product Manager will provide vision and tactical leadership to create & manage programs which drive broader adoption of our Professional Services portfolio Globally. The candidate will have overall responsible for setting up the Product Roadmap, Developing Solutions that drive favorable financial results and overall delivery of Professional Service solutions with a primary focus in with Cisco-Viptela SD-WAN Solutions to Large Enterprise and Federal Government markets. Responsible for achieving yearly revenue and profitability targets through strategic initiatives, sales channel, product and project team interactions. This position is accountable for a variety of functions that require exceptional leadership, communication and execution skills. The candidate must have both creative tactical and technical problem-solving skills with a keen mind toward strategic enhancements.
Job Description
• Support all aspects of the product marketing plan, including pricing, customer targeting, product positioning and channel policies/programs.
• Manage specific customer opportunities as they relate directly to driving revenue for the product. Evaluate customer requirements by working with engineering and cross functional delivery teams to convert customer requirements into a custom quote/proposal.
• Candidate must provide day-two-day leadership and direction to a wide range of cross functional teams to ensure executed proposals are delivered according to customer expectations.
• Contribute ideas and recommendations toward product, process and system improvements. Supports Sales team with business case development and projects definition as needed.
• Develops vision and market strategy across products. Identify market direction, what’s important to customers, where technology and features are evolving and where the company can effectively compete.
• Employ disciplined approach for developing quote to cash processes. Ensures service delivery processes and back-office systems associated with the product are optimized to reduce product cost basis.
• Responsible for vendor management on a global basis including sourcing, pricing, and daily ‘deal-by-deal’ negotiations by partnering with Procurement.
• Develops Statement of Work(s) to be used in customer proposals and contracts. Acts as SME and decision-maker in customer negotiations for all customer contract modifications. Negotiates business terms and conditions of customer contracts.
• Supports the planning, execution and go-to-market activities by closely working with Operations and Channel Marketing teams.
• Leads analysis and strategy formulation to determine business opportunities that align with department goals and prioritize solutions focusing on new revenue streams.
• Manages product financial results and variances monthly, quarterly, and annually to ensure product profitability is optimized. Forecast the units and revenue of the product, any enhancements or modifications while still meeting predetermined financial objectives.
• Understand overall industry trends, customer buying behavior, and competitor products in order to assess opportunities and develop winning solutions.
• Excellent communication skills to ensure alignment across the business and ability to communicate enablement plans for portfolio solutions to all stakeholders and senior management.
Qualifications
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ year’s related experience.
• Technical expertise and knowledge in data networking and Cisco-Viptela SD-WAN technologies.
• Expert knowledge of networking technologies (WAN, LAN, Network Equipment, DIA and MPLS)
• Established a proven track record demonstrating ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Exhibit strong product financial management skills and analytic competence.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and presentation skills with the ability to successfully communicate to all levels within the organization and execute across multiple cross-organizational teams.
• Excellent organizational skills to juggle and prioritize many tasks without losing sight of what’s most important.
• Demonstrated experience creating product specifications, performing competitive analysis, and/or market research.
• Self-motivated and self-managed with the ability to working with all Global time zones.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a commitment for driving winning solutions.
• Drives creativity and productivity by displaying a positive, “can do” attitude.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Visio) applications.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Masters degree in Telecommunications.
• Minimum of 5 years Professional Services product experience in telecommunications desired.
• Cisco-Certified Design Associate certification.
• Experience with Vendor Management Globally.
• Exhibits a strong sense of urgency, makes fact-based decisions quickly and efficiently.
• Experience with Federal Markets including an understanding of various government agency networking requirements.
• Experience with SDN and NFU technologies.
