JOB DESCRIPTION
METEOROLOGIST (Full Time Regular): KRIV-TV, Fox 26 in Houston, Texas, the Gulf Coast Weather Authority, is looking for a weekend morning meteorologist. The right candidate must be able to provide weather forecasts for all platforms, including broadcast, web and social. Experience with radar, severe weather and hurricane forecasting required. We are looking for someone who can report from the studio and in the field. Must be willing to video edit weather material and the ability to write and produce weather and news feature content a plus.
A minimum of five years’ experience working as a weather anchor in a medium or top 25 market is required. Must have a polished on air presentation with a strong basis in science. A strong social media presence is a plus. This is a rare opening at a station that takes weather seriously. Degree in meteorology preferred. AMS Seal required, will consider someone eligible for testing.
