Producer, Graphics - Lakers
The Spectrum Sports Environment: Spectrum Sports employs the industries best sports TV makers and technological innovators. Employees are required to be flexible and available to work various shifts throughout the day, including mornings, late evenings, weekends and holidays as we strives to connect viewers to their home teams. Spectrum Sports broadcast live sporting events for various professional, collegiate and high school sports teams most notably the Lakers, Dodgers, Galaxy, Sparks, WCC and CIF State Championships in the Los Angeles area.
Spectrum Sports is looking fora Producer, Graphics who will report to the show Director and be responsible for leading the studio production team in the execution of all on-air graphics. The Producer, Graphics will be responsible for playing out on-air graphics during live studio programming and at-home remote productions via Chyron and Viz graphic systems. He/She will work with Coordinating Producers to establish and maintain a style guide for all network graphics and then train and coach all production personnel on the use of on-air graphics.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Play out on-air graphics for live studio programming and at-home live event productions across all networks via Chyron and Viz-Rt Graphics systems.
• Establish and maintain a network style guide for on-air graphics. Style guide will include examples of all graphic templates and include a list of all approved abbreviations for on-air graphics.
• Attend daily content meeting and consistently contribute strong content ideas (not limited to graphics) for daily studio shows.
• Check all on-air graphics built by production team for factual accuracy as well as proper spelling and style.
• Coordinates with graphic artists and operators in developing the graphics for the show.
• Build and maintain Dalet templates for all network graphics.
• Act as Network’s primary researcher providing statistical data for all studio programs.
• Reviews production to ensure objectives are attained.
• Views taped program to select scenes to be used for promotional purposes, using video equipment.
• May represent television network, acting as liaison to independent producer of television series produced for network broadcast.
• Performs video editing functions to support content creation as needed.
• Responsible for accuracy of facts in the on-air product.
• Maintain a work atmosphere in a manner that works well with co-workers, supervisors and customers.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
• Coordinate the activities of writers, show directors, managers, and other personnel throughout the production process.
• Research production topics using the internet, video archives, and other informational sources. Must have thorough understanding of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc).
• Review recordings to ensure conformance to production and broadcast standards.
• Monitor post production processes to ensure accurate completion of details.
• Conduct meetings with staff to discuss production progress and to ensure production objectives are attained.
• Perform administrative duties, such as preparing operational reports and distributing network style guide updates.
• Resolve personnel problems that arise during the production process by acting as liaison with the parties when necessary.
• Strong understanding of advanced analytics and how they apply to the sports of baseball, basketball and soccer.
• Knowledge of Los Angeles community and sports in general is a must. Must have strong knowledge and understanding of the NBA, MLB, WNBA, and MLS with detailed understanding of the Lakers, Dodgers, Sparks and Galaxy.
• Television sports/news producing experience required.
• Thorough knowledge of operation and office policies and procedures. Must have ability to handle various tasks simultaneously, organize, prioritize, make decisions and work efficiently and effectively under deadlines.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Education
Bachelor’s degree in communications, broadcasting, radio/tv/film, or equivalent work experience is a plus but priority will be given to experience.
Related Work Experience
• 5+ years television sports/news graphics producing experience required.
• Hands on experience with Chyron and Viz-RT Graphics systems required.
• Experience with Dalet newsroom systems and Adobe Premiere preferred.
Travel Requirements:
• Travel depending upon project need.
Leadership/Staff Accountability:
• 3+ years Manager+: Delegates authority to carry out work of a unit to subordinate supervisors or managers.

• Provide 24x7, 365 days per year, on-call support. May entail phone or physical presence at the facility for equipment failure or other disasters. This includes, but is not limited to equipment and power failures, loss of contracted services, storms or severe weather, and loss of staff members
• Participate in an established on-call rotation
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at varying distances
• May require trips out of state
