Haymarket Media, Inc. is seeking a Sales Director to join the PRWeekteam. This position is located in our New York, NY office.
Job Overview:
PRWeek is seeking an experienced, creative and results driven sales and business development professional to drive the commercial revenue and growth of PRWeek with a core focus on selling custom content solutions, live/events sponsorships, and display media/advertising solutions (print and digital).
This position requires an entrepreneurial mindset combined with creativity and strong consultative sales skills as well as the ability to manage and inspire the PRWeek sales team. You will need to build strong relationships with key decision makers across a portfolio of clients including ad agencies, technology companies and other corporate clients.
Responsibilities:
• Drive revenue and the commercial growth of PRWeek both individually as well as leading the sales team
• Deliver accurate monthly revenue forecasts for the brand
• Relationship-building, negotiating, and effectively pitching and closing opportunities with new and existing clients/agencies to drive revenue against targets; Generate qualified leads, establish close rate benchmarks and continuously deliver sales results to raise the bar
• Manage/monitor individual and team activities and pipeline in Salesforce
• Collaboration with other key departments including, custom content, editorial, marketing, events/conferences, and finance
Skills and Requirements:
• Experience of working in a comparable role which includes account management and face to face media/sponsorship sales as well as managing other salespeople
• Ability to assess the commercial potential of new projects and update existing product offerings
• Strong understanding of clients business needs and resourcefulness in coming up with custom solutions to meet their challenges
• Outstanding personal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with a wide range of clients at all levels
• Strong financial management skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently
• Passion for your products and market
Qualifications include:
• 8 years’ experience minimum
• Bachelor's degree
• Demonstrable media sales and sales management experience
• Proven track record of success driving revenue through the development of long-term strategic partnerships
• Proficient with MS Windows, particularly Word, Excel and Powerpoint
• Proficient with Salesforce or other comparable CRM
