Product Manager, Money
The Product Manager, Money will be responsible for the business and product partnerships for the Careers and Real Estate categories. The Product Manager will be responsible for ensuring we have compelling rankings products and will be responsible for launches, maximizing revenues, dominating in search, while maintaining the quality of our brand and product.
Primary responsibilities:
• Business strategy and partnership: The Product Manager will develop the growth and operating strategies for future Careers and Real Estate products and partnerships. This individual will also manage existing partnerships and focus on growing revenue.
• Product: This position will require corralling of technology, design, content, PR, social, SEO and other teams at U.S. News to create exceptional online products. This individual will balance and coordinate efforts to optimize the user experience, product scalability, search engine performance and revenue opportunities. The Product Manager will work in conjunction with the Money Products team to create product roadmaps and deliver on product launches.
• Content: The Product Manager will be responsible for managing the Best Jobs rankings in Careers and our Best Places to Live and Best Places to Retire rankings in Real Estate. The Product Manager will work closely with our editorial team to optimize the integration and presentation of the Careers and Real Estate content and make sure that we are promoting our rankings not only during launches, but on an ongoing basis.
• Audience: The Career site’s and Real Estate site’s success is predicated on building and sustaining a highly engaged audience. The Product Manager will focus on growth in areas where we can differentiate from online competitors. This means the successful candidate must continually study the competitive landscape and our site analytics to identify trends, obstacles and opportunities for growth. Incorporating feedback from user research is also an important part of this position.
• Revenue: The Product Manager will work with the advertising team and outside partners to maximize revenue. The successful candidate will also develop new strategies to grow revenue in meaningful ways without compromising our mission to help consumers with objectivity and editorial independence.
• Success: Success will be defined by (1) revenue maximization (2) search traffic (3) speed of implementation (4) partnership management and (5) expansion of new products.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably Business major or similar, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years of professional work experience in Product Management
• SEO experience
• Demonstrated success defining and launching successful products
• Experience in Omniture or Google Analytics
• Experience running A/B tests in VWO, Optimize.ly or similar testing platform
• Mastery of Excel
• Strong communication skills and collaboration skills
