The Accommodation Specialist is responsible for ensuring the compliance and effectiveness of the end to end overall ADAA accommodation process. The Accommodation specialist will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in leave and workplace accommodations. They will be responsible and accountable to have direct interaction with and serve as the liaison between Altice USA employees, the Leave management and Disability vendor, Human Resources (including HR Business Partners), Legal Counsel, and Business representatives throughout the interactive process. In addition, the Accommodation Specialist must have proven Accommodation/Leave SME experience, and be well versed in Leaves of absence including Family Medical leave, Americans with Disabilities Act as amended, Work place accommodations, state and local leave laws, Short Term Disability (“STD”), Long Term Disability (“LTD”), Workers Compensation benefits, as well as the interplay between the various statutory benefits across the Altice USA footprint. The Accommodation Specialist will work independently to perform review of medical documentation, apply sound judgement in summarizing accommodation requests and making thoughtful recommendations in compliance with the Accommodation process.
• College preferred
• Two (2) to three (3) years prior experience in Leave Analyst/Specialist role
• Two (2) to (3) years of Human Resource experience
• Knowledge of pertinent Federal, State, and local laws and regulations regarding FMLA/ADAA/Disability, & Workers Compensation
• Superior oral and written communication skills
• Strong Microsoft Office capabilities, including extensive Excel reporting, Word and PowerPoint knowledge
• Strong organizational and demonstrable logical skills
• Ability to maintain highest degree of confidentiality and diplomacy
• Must be able to work independently
• Must be flexible to work overtime on short notice
