We’re looking for a Senior Accountant, International Accounting to help us shape the future of education. This role falls within our Finance team, which includes Treasury, Financial Planning, and Accounting. Our team members apply their expertise and business savvy to ensure that we are aligned to deliver to our customers and investors with fiscal preciseness and operational excellence.
As Senior Accountant, you will report to the Manager of International Accounting and be responsible for supporting the international entities’ monthly financial statement close and consolidation. You will play a key role in the company’s transfer pricing process as well as annual statutory audits. Specifically, you will review monthly accounting packages from international subsidiaries for conformance with US GAAP and process for consolidation. You will prepare all account reconciliations for international subsidiaries and prepare the quarterly intercompany transfer pricing package, working with international tax. You will also prepare quarterly sales commissions reports, working closely with local accounting firms in Latin America on accounting, invoicing, collections, and record keeping processes.
Additionally, you will be responsible for analyzing the results of international subsidiaries for accuracy. You will research and reconcile high-risk balance sheet accounts. You will support the setup of new international entities and the development of internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures over international accounting operations. You will also support the development and implementation of process improvement initiatives as well as the department’s strategic initiatives.
The Candidate:
• Has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent accounting experience
• Is a CPA or a CPA candidate
• Has solid communication skills and can work effectively across functional areas, geographical regions, and cultures
• Is self-motivated and thrives in a dynamic, high-energy environment
• Is detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Has advanced computer skills and knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Public accounting experience is a plus
• A working knowledge of US GAAP, especially in the areas of foreign exchange (ASC 830) and consolidations, is desirable
• Experience with Peoplesoft or Oracle Financials is preferred
• A working knowledge of IFRS is a plus
