Job Summary
Manages the most highly complex and significant vendor agreements and relationships across multiple commodities. Delivers against corporate initiatives related to cost reduction, cost avoidance, vendor rationalization, and continually benchmarks purchasing and process practices. Provides subject matter expertise and is a trusted advisor in vendor management/sourcing/procurement field.
Job Description
• Manages the relationship cycle with vendors that are most strategically significant and represent the greatest financial investment made with vendors by the company. Negotiates or renegotiates new and existing agreements or statements of work of the greatest complexity, including requests for information or requests for proposal and reverse auction generation and facilitation.
• Implements and measures cost savings, reduction, and avoidance programs and strategies. Continually refines these programs to deliver optimal results of significant importance to the company.
• Provides thought leadership that is recognized across the company. Continually identifies and implements new opportunities for cost savings, cost avoidance and proactively tracks progress towards these objectives that are critical to the company. Independently prepares and presents advanced business cases, return on investment models, and change management programs to stakeholders and senior management.
• Prepares scope documents, communication plans, and contract awards. Leads cross-functional teams to develop and execute negotiation strategies that include optimal targets for pricing, service, and quality for the most complex vendor relationships.
• Proactively reviews vendor performance and adherence to contractual terms, leads business reviews, and delivers resolution on difficult issues through effective negotiation tactics.
Qualifications
• 10+ years related experience with a Bachelor's degree or 8+ years related experience with Master’s degree (MBA preferred)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
• Telecom experience preferred
• CPM/CSPM Certification is preferred
• Experience with e-RFP, e-RFx, e-Catalog, reverse auctions preferred
• Advanced experience with contracts and negotiations
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong organizational skills; Strong interpersonal skills; Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to influence and motivate others with new ideas and concepts up to C-Level stakeholders
• Process management and documentation skills
• Travel up to 10%
