Job Summary
In this role you will be expected to manage a team of Supervisors/Buyers/Assistants, handle client direct responsibilities, and research, develop, negotiate, and present national television broadcast and video buys in a highly professional and competent fashion.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
• 10% - Planning
• 30% - Strategic Thinking
• 10% - Negotiation
• 30% - Supervision
• 20% - Brand Team/Client Management
• Manage Video Investment team on all phases of planning, buying and post buy processes
• Oversee development/presentation of strategically focused plans and recommendations with sound rationale
• Package, negotiate, present and maintain the accounts within the group
• Build and manage strong Brand Team, Vendor and Client relationships
• Participate in strategy development and brainstorming meetings with Brand Teams and Clients
• Work with Brand Team to insure plans are on strategy and meet Client objectives
• Negotiate video investment media buys, and assist Supervisors and Video Investors on the team in their continued development of negotiation strategies and tactics
• Be an advocate for Video Investment services across brand teams
• Stay current with the evolving landscape and on the advances in technology, innovation, measurement and research as the industry advances forward
• Participate in new business pitches
• Manage a team of 10-15 people (estimated, dependent on client assignments)
Supervisory Responsibilities
• Supervise Video Investment Supervisors and their respective Investor teams’ day to day workloads, as well as monitor accuracy and professionalism in work produced
Knowledge and Skills Required
• BA/BS Degree
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience planning & buying in Video Investment with at least 3 years at supervisory level
• Strong negotiation skills across markets and formats
• Solid relationships with all major Video media vendors
• Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills
• Ability to prioritize and organize open items for self and staff
• Ability to integrate and work successfully with various Agency teams, handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines under pressure
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including math proficiency
• Demonstrate strategic thinking and problem solving abilities
• Strong understanding of basic media planning terms and concepts such as GRPs, ROI, reach and frequency
