Editor-in-Chief, Senior Vice President - CQ Roll Call
Introduction
CQ and Roll Call bring up-to-date news, analysis and insights to senior decision-makers on Capitol Hill. CQ provides authoritative, nonpartisan and accurate congressional news and legislative tracking tools to its subscribers. Through its many online products, CQ and Roll Call keep readers updated on a weekly, daily and real-time basis covering every legislative action in Congress with breaking news, bill tracking, and member profiles and offers insight on the people and institutions that influence public policy and legislation.

The Editor-in-Chief is a Senior Vice President position and reports to the President/Chief Executive Officer of CQ Roll Call and is a member of the Executive team.
Accountabilities
In the role you would be expected to:
• Oversee the quality and accuracy of our journalism, information and data across CQ and Roll Call
• Increase the audience for Roll Call and subscribers for CQ
• Lead the creation and production of new content in new formats
• Manage the operation of the newsroom
• Be the guardian of the independence of the editorial content to maintain the CQ and Roll Call brands as non-partisan and unbiased
• Manage the budget of the Editorial department
Experience, skills and professional attributes
To succeed in the role you must have:
• Experience running a newsroom of a significant size
• Previous work experience as a reporter and managing editor
• A strong understanding of the American constitution
• A clear understanding of Congress and the legislative process and knowledge of congressional operations, procedure and policymaking
• An established network across Government and Media in Washington DC

• A confidence about setting the editorial direction of the media properties
