JOB DESCRIPTION

As our Executive Director of Project Management, you will lead a team to manage our portfolio of broadcast engineering projects. To succeed in this role, you will need to manage your time to focus on the most pressing priorities (which at times change daily!), build solid relationships with clients and Engineering teams, make rational decisions during high-stress situations, understand business requirements of our projects, and effectively communicate with clients, vendors, engineers and senior management.
Responsibilities:
• Lead, manage, and mentor the project management team. Ensure projects they are managing are running efficiently, using Agile or Waterfall methodologies as appropriate.
• Ensure team is effectively managing project timelines, budgets, change requests, blockers, issues, risk mitigation plans, and equipment procurement. Communicate and escalate blockers and issues as required.
• Support the leadership team in the planning, implementation and execution of key strategic programs.
• Manage the prioritization process and client expectations of our portfolio of projects.
• Ensure the project management team is able to execute on mission critical projects on time and within budget.
• Partner with Engineering teams to manage the project portfolio. Hold Engineering teams accountable to make and meet commitments.
• Prepare and distribute project management artifacts, ensuring information is accurate and appropriate for the target audience.
• Continuously provide constructive feedback on process improvements and needs and recommend solutions to build toward project management best practices based on our environment.
• Design and implement KPI’s that allows the PMO to measure progress across our portfolio of projects.
Requirements:
• 10+ years of technical or engineering project/program management experience
• 7+ years of leadership experience at Director or above level managing teams
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
• Bachelor’s Degree, Engineering or Information Technology degree preferred
• Possess strong working knowledge of project management methodologies
• Ability to build collaborative relationships with diverse groups including senior management
• Strong facilitation skills at multiple levels of an organization
• Hands-on experience running large technology initiatives spanning multiple technical and departmental disciplines
• Excellent oral and written communication skills as necessary to communicate plans and status to all levels within the company
• High proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• Has passion for lightweight, effective processes that will improve the productivity of the organization
• Ability to provide positive reinforcement and motivation to team members
• Ability to establish and maintain high standards, remain calm and make rational decisions during critical situations and to give and receive feedback openly and objectively
• Effectively manage time to focus on what is important and to delegate appropriately
• Ability to research problems before taking action
• Ability to act with the appropriate spirit and commitment to company, department, and team goals
