POSITION SUMMARY: Gathers and analyzes large volumes of data, evaluates scenarios to make predictions on future outcomes and creates tools for decision making. Comfortable in using advanced statistical data modeling techniques and tools.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
• Uses analytic techniques, like advanced data visualizations, to understand and improve BMI’s songwriter, composer, publisher and business partner experiences
• Manipulate and analyze complex, high-volume, high dimensionality data from multiple sources
• Work closely with internal business leaders to identify and answer important questions, using data, that help improve outcomes for BMI
• Interpret problems and provide solutions using appropriate data modeling techniques
• Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
• Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data sets
• Apply expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to evaluate how our users interact with both our consumer and business products
• Analyze and interpret the results of product experiments
• Develop prototypes for new data ideas; taking initiative and breaking down barriers to achieve solutions
• Creates reports / dashboard using automated production techniques that include alarm / alert systems using control charts and other statistical techniques
• Applies cost implications to data trends with favorable or unfavorable impacts for business leaders
• Communicate findings to product managers and development groups
• Regular attendance

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
Experience:
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with enterprise data architecture, data modeling, ETL and high volume transaction processing systems, preferably in a custom software development environment
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with SQL Server, Oracle RAC, data presentation, query optimization, indexing, replication to business users
Skills and Abilities: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position)
• Proficiency with SQL, especially for SQL Server / Oracle
• Proficiency with DB2 highly preferred
• Proven track record of full life cycle successes from inception to successful completion and production support
• Knowledge of SQL DW in Azure is a plus
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong analytical / problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to be innovative and collaborate
• Organized, goal-oriented, self-starter, can manage multiple tasks from start to completion with limited supervision
• Knowledge of entertainment industry a plus
