Hearst Magazines seeks a strong Human Resources professional who will be responsible for supporting their growing Digital Media group. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who thrives in fast paced, high energy environments.
Responsibilities:
• Build credible relationships with key management, business stakeholders and peers
• Develop and implement strategies to identify and attract the best candidates through recruitment campaigns, Internet searches, networking groups, social media, referrals and advertising
• Manage the full recruiting process including job description development, resume review, interviews and negotiation.
• Provides day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching,
• counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
• Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conduct effective and thorough investigations and recommend/implement courses of action based on results
• Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
• Interpret HR policy issues and provide guidance on employment laws and regulations
• Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase retention
• Keep in touch with the workforce, providing employee support, and anticipating reactions and the impact of business decisions
• Manage various special projects as needed (onboarding, orientation, employee branding, etc.)
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 7+ years of previous Human Resource experience; prior media/digital/tech experience a big plus
• Ability to handle high volume, fast paced recruiting across all levels
• Must be familiar with the latest recruiting techniques and trends including the utilization of social media
• Strong coaching and counseling skills
• Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills
• Superior judgment and attention to detail
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships internally and externally
• Must be flexible with strong multi-tasking skills
• Solid working knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements
• Prior managerial experience
